What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a form of hands-on manual therapy that takes a whole-body approach to understanding and improving how you move and function. Rather than simply focusing on where you feel pain, osteopathy looks at the bigger picture—your anatomy, biomechanics, movement patterns, history and lifestyle—to understand what may be contributing to the problem.
Treatment is tailored to you and may include a combination of joint mobilisation and articulation, soft tissue techniques, cranial osteopathy and targeted movement exercises. The goal is to restore mobility, improve physical function and help your body move more effectively.
Osteopathy meets movement
At Invicta Osteopathy, Baye has a particular interest in functional movement rehabilitation. Hands-on treatment can help create change, but movement is how we help your body learn to use that change. Through specific strengthening, mobility and control exercises, we work with your nervous system to develop more efficient movement strategies and improve how your body responds to the demands placed upon it.
This approach can be particularly valuable when symptoms keep returning. By looking beyond the immediate problem and addressing how you move and function, we aim to create changes that extend beyond the treatment room.
It's not always about pain!
You don't have to be injured or in pain to benefit from osteopathy. Regular treatment can be part of a proactive approach to maintaining mobility, supporting physical function and helping you perform at your best.
Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing persistent pain, preparing for surgery, or simply want to keep your body moving well, osteopathy can help you better understand your body and give you the tools to look after it.
Baye treats a lot of acute injuries and the pains that seem to come out of the blue, but she also works with patients to optimize physical performance and minimize risk of injuries.
